About

Nutrition

At FlavrFix, we believe you shouldn't have to choose between bland, tasteless "healthy" meals and unhealthy, processed foods. Many so-called "healthy" meals can become monotonous quickly, leading to takeout binges that make you feel terrible.

Packaged processed foods might taste good, but they're often packed with preservatives, inflammatory seed oils, and processed cane sugar. These ingredients are not just unhealthy—they can leave you feeling sluggish and drained.

FlavrFix offers crave-worthy meals that will leave you both satisfied and nourished. Our philosophy is simple. We make food with real, whole ingredients. While we don’t obsess over macros, we are meticulous about nutrition. We serve you what we serve our family - whole ingredients, organic whenever possible, balanced nutrition, no cane sugar, preservatives, or highly processed seed oils, and avoidance of ultra-processed foods.

Packaging

All your meals are delivered in vacuum-sealed pouches. Oxygen is one of food's worst enemies when it comes to preservation and taste. Our vacuum-sealing process locks in the flavor and ensures your meals taste fresh all week long, eliminating the need for unhealthy preservatives.

Each meal is cooked and vacuum-sealed the day before delivery. You can store them in the refrigerator for up to five days for maximum freshness. Many of our meals are also freezer friendly.

We use Avid Armor pouches, which are long-term freezer safe, cook safe (microwave, boil, simmer, and sous vide), and BPA free.

Storing & Reheating

For optimal safety and quality, store meals below 4 degrees Celsius and heat them to at least 74 degrees Celsius.

We want to make reheating your meals as convenient and versatile as possible. Whether you prefer to reheat your meals inside the vacuum-sealed bag or take them out, we've got you covered. Please follow these instructions to enjoy your meal at its best.

Reheating Inside the Bag

Microwave:

  1. Place the vacuum-sealed bag on a microwave-safe plate.
  2. Puncture a small hole in the bag to allow steam to escape.
  3. Microwave on high for 2-3 minutes, or until heated through.
  4. Carefully remove from the microwave (the bag and contents will be hot).

Boiling:

  1. Fill a pot with enough water to fully submerge the vacuum-sealed bag.
  2. Bring the water to a boil.
  3. Place the bag in the boiling water for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Use tongs to remove the bag from the water (be cautious as the bag will be hot).

Sous Vide:

  1. Preheat your sous vide water bath to 74°C (165°F).
  2. Submerge the vacuum-sealed bag in the water bath.
  3. Heat for 30-45 minutes, depending on the meal's density.
  4. Carefully remove the bag from the water bath (the bag and contents will be hot).

Reheating Outside the Bag

Sauté:

  1. Remove the meal from the vacuum-sealed bag.
  2. Heat a small amount of oil in a pan over medium heat.
  3. Add the contents to the pan and sauté for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through.

Oven:

  1. Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F).
  2. Remove the meal from the vacuum-sealed bag and place it in an oven-safe dish.
  3. Cover with foil to retain moisture.
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until heated through.

Air Fryer:

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 175°C (350°F).
  2. Remove the meal from the vacuum-sealed bag.
  3. Place the meal in the air fryer basket.
  4. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until heated through.

Microwave:

  1. Remove the meal from the vacuum-sealed bag and place it in a microwave-safe dish.
  2. Cover the dish with a microwave-safe lid or plate.
  3. Microwave on high for 2-3 minutes, stirring halfway through, until heated through.

Important Safety Note

When reheating meals inside the vacuum-sealed bag, please exercise caution when opening the bag. The contents will be hot and steam may escape, which can cause burns. Always use tongs or oven mitts to handle the bag and let the meal cool for a minute before serving. Enjoy your meal!
